The Art of East Anglia: an evening with Tessa Newcomb

Thursday 4 November, 6.30 - 8.30pm

Join Suffolk artist Tessa Newcomb as she celebrates the powerful influence of the East Anglian landscape on her work and that of her mother, the acclaimed British painter Mary Newcomb.

Tessa will discuss the inspiration behind a new book of her paintings, Where I Belong, which reflects her deep-rooted connection to the East of England. She follows Mary’s footsteps, literally and figuratively, in making the Norfolk and Suffolk countryside the subject of much of her art.

Tessa will also present her mother’s lesser-known early work in ceramics, later developed by her husband and the subject of another new book, Needham Pottery: The Ceramics of Mary and Godfrey Newcomb.

The talk will be accompanied by a slideshow of work by Tessa and Mary Newcomb.

Tickets include a glass of wine and are fully redeemable against the cost of books bought on the evening.
