Get more from the Book Department

Learn more about the services we offer through our book department from loyalty, ordering, book club and self publishing.

As proudly 'old-fashioned' booksellers, we know books, and we love books.  If we were invited to appear on Mastermind, take a guess as to our specialist subject!  Because of our passion for books, we have a number of services that we can offer to help you get the most out of your literary adventures...

The Jarrold Book Club

If you love books and reading, why not join our Book Club?

We usually meet once a month and have a friendly and informal chat about our chosen book – everyone is welcome. The books we read are chosen via a group vote from a selection of titles suggested by book club members, plus a few of our favourites.

All meetings are held in Chapters on the lower ground floor at 6pm and are usually hosted by our books team member, Emma. Wine and soft drinks available to purchase on the night.

If you would like to come please call 01603 660661 and ask for the Book Department, or ask staff for details. Tell your friends... all are welcome!

If you are already in a different book club, we are pleased to be able to offer you a 10% discount on orders for the club. From time to time we are also able to let you know about special offers or event ticket discounts especially for book clubs – if you’d like to be kept up to date with these, please email details of your book club to:

Book Orders and Recommendations

If we don’t already stock the book you want we’ll be happy to order it for you and we can usually source any book that’s currently in print in the UK, often within twenty-four hours (please note that with the onset of the Covid-19 crisis, our deliveries often take longer to reach us. We will do our best to estimate arrival times for you as carefully as possible).

If you’d like a new book but don’t know where to start, we’d be delighted to recommend your next read. You can read out Books Edit for ideas or ask us directly to help.

If you want to place an order, or ask for a recommendation please the switchboard and ask for books or CONTACT US HERE.
