In Quietness and Confidence is a structured beret that whispers with delicate charm and grace. Crafted from high grade wool felt in neutral tones of chartreuse and mink, the design is inspired by rambling country gardens and the scented essence of clematis flowers.
This hat is moulded and stitched entirely by hand at the Goodrum & Merryweather studio in the heart of Norwich. Crafted the traditional way, using heritage skills and millinery techniques, it is trimmed with a drift of seven felt flowers, each cut and sculpted individually to give texture and form.
Shaped on a traditional wooden mould from Boon and Lane, the highly respected master block makers of Luton (an established centre of British hat making), the beret shape is exceptionally flattering and easy to wear. It is secured to the head with a stretchy hat elastic (in black) that sits under the hairline for an invisible and comfortable fit. With a lining of vintage silk and a traditional Petersham band to its underside, this hat delivers on detail and distinction.
