Even the sun had got his hat on for the Jarrold Ladies Day at Fakenham Racecourse on Sunday June 4th. And the day proved that Norfolk could pull out all the stops when it comes to Race Day style. From pretty florals to pops of bright colour, women , men and even the little ones dressed up to the nines for the very first Jarrold Ladies Day.
There were three Best Dressed prizes up for grabs – the hotly contested Best Dressed Lady, the Best Dressed Couple and the Best Hat. Judging took place by Caroline Jarrold, Jarrold personal stylist Florrie Dunn, Jarrold marketing manager Carole Slaughter and Jarrold brand and editorial manager Emma Harrowing.
“It was great to see everyone enjoying dressing up for the occasion. “The standard of dress made it a tough challenge for us judges to pick just one winner and two runners-up in each category, after all everyone looked amazing.”
The winners of the best dressed competition were:
As well as sponsoring the whole day, Jarrold also sponsored The Jarrold Ladies Day Handicap Steeplechase, which was won by number 3 That’s The Deal, trained and owned by John Cornwall and ridden by Lee Edwards.
Jarrold will be sponsoring Ladies Day at Fakenham Racecourse until 2019, as part of a three-year deal that sees a strong collaboration between two of the best premium, local, family-owned businesses in Norfolk.
