Jarrold Festival of Colour 2017

Colour, art, fashion, makeup and homewares collided for the first Jarrold Festival of Colour

This summer it's all about colour. From the Lord Mayor's Celebrations and Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre last weekend, to Latitude Festival at Henham Park in Suffolk next weekend, to the start of the summer holidays; brighter hues are definitely on the menu.

So how better to celebrate the colourful days of summer than with the Jarrold Festival of Colour - an event that runs to coincide with the Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre and Latitude Festival?

Running for a week, the Jarrold Festival of Colour launched during the Lord Mayor's Celebration and Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre, where guest artist Rebecca Osborne held an art workshop and created three large scale paintings on canvases outside our Art and Stationers on Bedford Street. Using Liquitex spray paints and paint pens, Rebecca worked all day on a live art installation, which entertained the crowds. There was also the chance to try out Liquitex paint pens for yourself as children and adults alike drew, painted and sketched their own designs on smaller canvas that formed part of the live art display.

Over at The Granary on Bedford Street the Festival of Colour continued with a Paint-A-Table art installation where children and adults helped decorate an old painted table with Colart waterbased paint pens.

The windows of The Granary also showcase festival fashion from our women's and men's fashion departments, alongside fabrics and home accessories from The Granary - including the rather colourful SunnyLife collection of flamingoes, pineapples and cactus and the multicoloured Fatboy collection, which includes the new-to-store Fatboy Lamzacs - a pop-up lounger that you can take anywhere!

Children and adults make their mark on our Paint-a-Table outside The Granary, which also features festival fashion from our fashion floors in the windows.

At the M.A.C counter instore it was all about lips, as makeup artists were on hand to offer advice on what's the colour lips for you. There was also the opportunity to get your Latitude look for the festival season, with a selfie station to capture the best looks.
