Ask the toy buyer: The wonder of Lego

As the Brickwonders event at The Forum comes to an end on Sunday 21 January, Jarrold toy buyer Selina Clarke shares her favourite pieces of Lego from the current range. Plus you can be in with a chance to win some Lego!

Becoming the toy buyer was a stroke of luck for me as I have always been a fan of the yellow brick! From using my, and my brothers, imagination when we were little to following the instructions on the expert builds that are now available, Lego has also been an outlet for creativity and, in a weird way, relaxation for me and my family.  As we  stock lines from all Lego ranges a lot are given as presents thought the year.  Here are my current favourites...

City Monster Truck

Classic Lego vehicle build with 192 pieces.  This is the first Monster Truck in this range for a while and comes with a working suspension so will be great for crashing and ramp driving!

Creator Mighty Dinosaur

This set fits both of my favourite things…Lego and dinosaurs!  The Creator range is my go to Lego build as in one box you have the chance to build three models.  The Mighty Dinosaur set gives a choice of a T Rex, Triceratops or Pterodactyl so all prehistoric bases are covered.

Friends Mias Camper Van

The Friends range is always good for giving a big build with loads of little builds to create a good play piece.  This set includes the Camper Van but also adds in a tent, horse, picnic table and accessories to create your own camping adventures with Mia and Stephanie.

Lego Hard To Find Carousel

The Carousel is part of Lego's Expert range and at 2670 pieces it definitely calls for an expert builder!  Within the build you also build the mechanism to make it turn and watch the animals rise and fall.  This is one on my list for 2018, if I can find the space at home!

Lego Technic BMW

There are not many motorbikes in the Lego ranges so when one comes along it is always a bonus!  This set is also a two in one so extra instructions can be downloaded from Lego to build a different set designed by BMW designers.

Star Wars A Wing Vs Tie Silencer Microfighters

This new set, based on the latest film, comprises of two Microfighters (usually the Microfighters are sold individually). The bonus of having two vehicles in the set makes it easier to recreate scenes from The Last Jedi.  Both vehicles have missiles to fire and their own mini figures.
