In the press: Finding the perfectly fitted running shoe at Jarrold Intersport
Our digital gait analysis machine and SafeSize foot scanner was put to the test by runner and editor of Norwich Resident magazine Emma Lee.
The importance of wearing correctly fitted sports shoes has regularly been in the press. Many of the painful foot and knee injuries experienced by runners are caused by wearing the wrong running shoe, so it is important to make sure that the trainers you buy will actually give you the support you need.
Runner and editor of Norwich Resident magazine Emma Lee recently came into Jarrold Intersport to see if we could recommend the right running shoes for her. Our instore running gait analysis service and SafeSize foot scanner can help determine what trainers will suit you by taking a short video clip of you running on a treadmill and a digital scan of your feet to determine the volume, width and length of each foot. This coupled with our instore experts' knowledge and experience, means that we can quickly show you the best footwear options for your feet.
Emma said: "While I would never describe myself as sporty, I've been running for a couple of years now. From time to time I get a twinge in my left knee when I run, so I was interested to know whether shoes with more support could help with this.
"After running on the treadmill and being scanned on the SafeSize scanner, I found out that although I'm a neutral runner, my left ankle pronates everso slightly, which could be contributing to my twinge. Based on my analysis I the trainers recommended to me were the Asics Gel Nimbus 20, which would give me more cushioning when I run. Running with my new trainers on you could see the difference in how my foot was lnding - and as the name suggests, it felt like I was running on a cloud."
