When it comes to the key autumn trends for your home, this year it's all about a muted colour palette of camel, pale greys and blush pink; mixing different textures of leather, marble, wood, fur, sheepskin and brass; and geometric prints with an African or Asian influence.
These trends are quite neutral, providing a liveable space that you can enjoy for years to come, but if you like to update your home each season the simpliest way is to dip into new trends by changing cushions, lampshades, vases, and perhaps freshen walls with one of Little Greene's new colours devised in collaboration with English Heritage (Dash, Soot or Wood Ash are my favourites).
Creating a timeless look to your home has become a trend in itself. A subtle colour on the walls provides the perfect backdrop to simple furniture, such as the Nyord oak or ash dining table, a leather sofa or chair, that will last for many years. Furniture should look like it belongs to the room and colour can then be introduced with accent pieces. Beautifully lined and interlined curtains and blinds in a simple fabric will not date and adds warmth to a room in winter and a touch of luxury throughout the year. Make an investment in good flooring, and add plants, flowers and candles to bring your rooms alive.
Investing in a piece that makes a statement in a room can add interest. A Crucial Trading rug will instantly make an impact on a room. Come into store, choose from our samples and build your own rug. Or perhaps add some quirky lighting. A Fatboy Rockcoco chandelier available in five different colours would certainly make a statement.
