As Pantone announces the colour of 2019 is Coral, we can all look forward to welcoming this pink hue back in our homes as designers and manufacturers will no doubt include the colour in their SS19 collections. But in a similar way to how last year’s colour of the year – Ultra Violet – was overshadowed by the tropical trend of lush greens, punchy pineapple and oceanic blues, the colours of the natural world look set to continue their reign in the colour charts for another year. This is not least because in most of the home collections we have bought into this spring and summer green is still the main colour.
There are two greens that will be big in 2019 – a zesty yellow-green and a darker moss green. Both can be featured on statement pieces of furniture such as a chair of sofa, or by introducing pops of colour through home accessories such as candle holders, cushions and plant pots. The latter also paves the way for a second wave of the popularity for houseplants – the easiest way to get different green hues into your home.
