Jarrold loves...your scent memories

Catch a whiff of a particular fragrance and you can be reminded of a certain occassion, person or time of your life. As part of National Fragrance Week we are asking you what your scent memories are - here are some of the popular fragrances that evoke special memories so far...

A fragrance can bring back memories of a special place or time, or it can remind you of that special someone in your life. For National Fragrance Week at Jarrold you have been telling us what fragrance evokes a special memory for you, taking to social media and posting your fragrance memory on our special Fragrance Week board instore. In fact we have been inundated with your stories behind the perfumes you used to wear or still wear now, so we have decided to post a few of your memories here – along with the fragrance that reminded you of it.

"Marc Jacob’s ‘Daisy’ just lovingly reminds me of my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding day. Sarah always wore Gucci ‘Red’ but chose Daisy for their special day."

Lyn Kirk

Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT 50ml

"My favourite scent memory is discovering a tiny tester of CK One (the scent of my youth!) and allowing my son to apply liberally before the school disco! Brought back a lot of memories as we made some new ones!"

Jenni Potter

CK One EDT 50ml

"Youth Dew by Estee Lauder, as my mum wore it all the time so if I smell it on someone I think of her -  such happy memories."

Liz Johnson

Estee Lauder Youth Dew EDP Spray

"Kenzo Flowers is mine, I remember sniffing a sample in a magazine then saving up my pocket money for it! It was quite an ‘adult’ scent for a teenager and a big step up from the Charlie body sprays, but I’d saved hard for it and loved wearing it."

Jane Wickham

Kenzo Flower by Kenzo EDT 50ml

"The fragrance that reminds me of good times is Jo Malone Lonson Peony and Blush Suede."

Georgina Breeze

Jo Malone London Peony and Blush Suede EDT 30ml

"Chanel No5 has always has been my favourite scent. As a little girl I always remember my Nan smelling beautiful then one day walking through the beauty hall in Jarrolds I smelt it, of course I had to buy a bottle! The lady was shocked when I said I was buying it for myself, telling me not many ladies in their 20s wear that scent. It is now my go to fragrance for special occasions like my wedding day and my Nan's funeral. It always makes me think of my late Nan when I wear it."

Kerryn Edwards

Chanel No5

From £55

Instore only

"My scent memory is Cerruti 1881 . It always reminds me of my holidays and lovely sunny days in Corfu."

Karen Lamb

Cerruti 1881 Femme EDT 50ml

"Yardleys April Violets. I bought this every year for my Mum for her birthday, which was in April. From time to time I will smell this and it evokes very happy memories of her. Miss her and April Violets."

Jane Carver

Yardley April Violets EDT 125ml

"Tom Ford - Mandarino Di Amalfi.  I opened it from my husband on the morning of our wedding, on the Amalfi Coast. Every time I smell it now it’s like I’m back there and not in cold snowy England!"

Jenna Jarvis

Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua Eau De Toilette 100ml
