Le Creuset

Le Creuset began producing its first porcelain enamelled cast iron pots in 1925 from its foundry in Fresnoy le Grand, France.

The Cocotte, or French Oven, was one of the first cast iron items produced by Le Creuset and is still the most popular item sold.

World famous designer, Egmont Arens, designed three of the most elegant KitchenAid models, among which was the famous model K,  now exhibited in many museums.

Staedtler

The Staedtler family history can be traced back to 1662 when Freidrich Staedtler was first mentioned as a pencil-making craftsman.

The workshop was industrialised in 1835 and by 1840 was producing over 2,160,000 pencils a year. Nowadays more than 2,200 people work in the Staedtler factory.

Penguin

The first Penguin paperbacks appeared in the summer of 1935 and included works by Ernest Hemingway, André Maurois and Agatha Christie. They were colour coded (orange for fiction, blue for biography, green for crime) and
cost just sixpence.

The way the public thought about books changed forever - the paperback revolution had begun.
