Glenfarclas 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky 70cl

A gloriously smooth Single Malt Scotch Whisky, yet with the depth and finish you would expect of a much older dram. A wonderful sherried whisky and an excellent aperitif.

Traditional distillation methods instill in this Highland Single Malt Scotch its distinctive and unforgettable taste and the finest oak casks, previously used for the maturation of fine Oloroso Sherry, add sweetness. The finish is long, smooth and spicy.

On the nose you get tempting Sherry-sweet malty tones, combined with delicate aromas, releasing subtle spices. Warming the glass revelas honey, vanilla and pear drops.  On the palate it's delicately light with a mouth-watering combination of maltiness, Sherry sweetness and hints of dried fruit, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves.

There has been licensed distilling at Glenfarclas for over 180 years. The spring water is crystal clear and bubbles up from the underlying granite on the slopes of the Speyside mountain, Ben Rinnes, to supply the distillery below. There it combines with the finest malted barley to provide a mash which is then twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills - the largest in Speyside. Only the lightest and best fractions of alcohol are collected, of which two thirds is filled into the finest Oroloso Sherry casks and one third into plain oak casks in which to lie, maturing over many years, producing the lustrous colour and flavour for which Glenfarclas has become noted.
