Maintenance

We currently have a full time opportunity within our maintenance team.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the general upkeep of the various Jarrold sites, including our main branch in London Street, and our Arts and Stationers and Sports store on Exchange Street. Due to the customer focused nature of our business, this role is pivotal to ensuring that our store continues to provide an exceptional shopping experience, whilst retaining our rich architectural heritage both inside and out.

This role involves but is not limited to:

• Responding to adhoc maintenance tasks
• General maintenance of fixtures and fittings such as maintenance of a/c filters and lighting.
• Ensuring Health and Safety is maintained at high levels.
• Assisting with refurb and building projects.
• Supporting our security team as required.

You will need:

• A positive and can do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills
• Working knowledge of janitorial duties, including painting and decorating, minor electrical knowledge, and working at height.
• Be competent in the use of hand and power tools and machinery.
• Be punctual and reliable with the ability to think on your feet.
• Have total commitment to customer service
• Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Have high standards of presentation to support our business brand.
• Flexibility to work week ends on a rota.

The role will entail the maintenance of both the customer facing and staff areas, and will involve being on call for any shop floor maintenance required. Working on your own initiative as well as part of a close team. Some tasks will be based within the maintenance workshop but majority will be in and around the store itself.
