35 hours per week - 5 days out of 7 including weekends

At Jarrold we pride ourselves on offering a fabulous dining experience to our customers whether they’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch or a coffee. Jarrold is a popular city centre department store with currently five food outlets to their food and beverage. The five outlets cover a wide range from a 250 seat self service restaurant to a 70 seater Bistro with complete table service. All food is produced in house using fresh local produce, where possible.

This is an exciting time for us as we open our sixth restaurant and expand our team. We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and reliable Commis Chef working 35 hours over 5 days. Flexibility to work weekends is essential.

The successful candidate will have an interest in cooking or baking and a goal to become a trained chef within a team of both savoury and pastry. Applicants must have an eye for detail, and take pride in their food presentation skills. The candidate will be trained to reach the highest standards in all areas of food preparation and service.

Previous experience is not essential, just the ability to work well within a team and the demanding kitchen environment, with the willingness to learn and be able to cope under the pressure of busy periods.

We have taken the decision with a heavy heart to close all our Jarrold stores until further notice from 4pm on Monday 23 March. This will include our online business.

We’ve been in business for 250 years, in good times and bad. But these aren't normal times and we find ourselves in the unique situation where closing our doors is the right thing to do.

If you have purchased something in the last few days and would like a refund, we're sorry that we can’t process refunds whilst we are closed but we are extending our returns policy to 28 days following our reopening.

If you placed an online order before we closed, unless you have been informed otherwise, your order has been dispatched and you should expect it from Friday 27th March onwards.
