About Cherie Chen
I was born and grew up in Bangkok, Thailand in a third-generation Chinese family.
With a daughter’s duty to help support the family business, I studied accounting at university and worked in the auditing and accounting field. It wasn’t until after my eldest child was born and I had moved to the UK that I published 13 children’s books with Thai publishers and became an author/illustrator.
I now enjoy working with sixth form students at a high school in Norwich and keep my creative passions alive by writing and illustrating my own books and producing other art projects.

This work is influenced by my interest in old English traditions, folklore, my own Chinese heritage, the nature around me and the history of the medieval Norwich where my family and I have settled for past 18 years.
