Welcome to the www.jarrold.co.uk website. This website is owned and operated by Jarrold and Sons Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 75278 and whose registered address is Whitefriars, Norwich NR3 1SH. These terms and conditions apply to the use of this website and by accessing this website and/or placing an order you agree to the terms and conditions as set out below. These terms and conditions may be changed at any time without notice, and we therefore recommend that you check these each time you revisit the site.

How to Order

1          Browse for products using the online catalogue.

Select required item(s) and add them to your shopping basket. Contents of the basket can be checked and amended at any time by using the "View Basket" facility,

3          When you are happy with your order, continue through the
Checkout to payment. We accept payment Jarrold store card, and by MasterCard, Visa Card, Visa Delta, Maestro.


If you have any problems with the ordering process or require additional product information, please contact our Internet Orders' team on 01603 697150, between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can email using the "Contact Us" button.  Our Internet Order team will endeavour to reply to messages within two working days. "Working day" in this context means Monday to Friday, and excludes Saturday & Sunday and Bank Holidays.

We will take all reasonable care to keep the details of your order and payment secure.  We do not hold or store any of your credit or debit card details on our systems (see "Secure Payment" below)   In the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from our Website.


Contract Formation

Your placing an order and our subsequent order acknowledgement does not constitute the formation of a contract. Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered (unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order).

Secure Payment

All payments are processed through Protx, the largest online payment service provider in the UK. As a result we do not hold any of your card details on our systems. Full details of the Protx privacy and security policies can be found on their website at www.protx.com. Payment is made at the time your order is placed.

Your Account

Upon registration you will choose a confidential password. You will be responsible for all orders placed through your account so you should make sure that you keep your details safe and confidential.

Price

All prices we show on the website are inclusive of VAT.

Availability

If the item is out of stock we will cancel your order, send you a cancellation email and refund your payment.
 
Delivery Policy

Product prices shown on our site exclude charges for packing and delivery. Our charging policy is as follows:

·         Free packing and delivery on purchases over £100

·         Otherwise a £4.95 delivery charge is made for each order placed

Exceptions:

·         £2.95 for small packages containing single books or other similar small-size, low value items.

·         £1.25 recorded delivery for gift vouchers, book tokens and store event tickets

The applicable charge is shown clearly at the Checkout stage before you commit to placing the order with us.

In most circumstances, our Internet Orders team will dispatch the goods you have ordered from us such that delivery is made within 7 working days to anywhere in mainland UK

Deliveries will be made to the address that you give us for delivery of the product(s).  Deliveries may require a signature on receipt.

We are unable at this time to send orders to addresses outside mainland United Kingdom.

Christmas 2007.   Latest order dates for deliveries before Christmas 2007 will be shown in the "Delivery Details" section of the website from the start of December.

Cancellation and returns *

You may cancel your order for any reason at any time prior to dispatch and make returns up to 30 days after receipt of your goods provided that they are in perfect, unused condition and in original unopened or undamaged packaging.

Refunds will be against the card used to make the original payment following inspection of the returned goods, normally with in 7 working days. Return documentation is included with the goods when dispatched to you.

We recommend that a verifiable method of return delivery is used, as proof of posting cannot be taken as proof of receipt.

Unless goods are faulty we are unable to offer refunds on the following: cosmetics, perfumes,personal grooming products, food, drink and other perishables, lingerie, swimwear, jewellery,CD,DVD, other recording media software or videos.

If goods are not returned and received by us in perfect condition we reserve the right to withhold or refuse any refund, pending enquiry, and/or make only a part refund

Exchange *

We will exchange items on receipt of goods in perfect condition. We are unable to offer exchange on the following goods : cosmetics, perfumes,personal grooming products, food, drink and other perishables, lingerie, swimwear, jewellery,CD,DVD, other recording media software or videos.

In order to fulfil your order, we need to know your name, address, e-mail address and delivery address. We also ask for your telephone number, which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order.

Your credit or debit card details are taken by our payment service provider, Protx, when you enter your card details to make your order and are not retained by Jarrold & Sons Ltd.

We monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us enhance the design and layout of the site. We may use your personal information for our internal marketing and demographic studies, so we can consistently improve our site to better meet our visitors' needs. To enforce legal rights and the law, we may also disclose information to law enforcement agencies if so requested.  No personal data will be passed outside of the EEA (European Economic Area).
