Nelson isn't featured directly in this title; however, Burnham Thorpe's greatest son was the inspiration for the book as he was an inspiration for his crew. Here is an account of some of those fellow sailors - preceded by the three fighting admitrals of north Norfolk, paralled with great explorers of distant oceans, and followd by naval supremos, medalled war heroes, saviours of men (in more senses than one) and those who help us enjoy our recreation on inland waters and great oceans through to the present day.
