What do you love about running?
I have always enjoyed being active and was a very hyper child, so running for me is a great way of expelling energy, improving my fitness and get out in the fresh air. And yes, I am one of those people who likes to run in all weathers!
Where do you like to run?
I love running off road especially in wooded areas as the ground has so much extra bounce. I also enjoy hill running though I don’t get as much opportunity as I’d like to do this.
What’s your favourite distance?
I was a sprinter at school so had to work hard to improve my endurance, so I am not a natural long distance runner. I do really enjoy 5k as it is easy to fit in around my schedule and there are lots of runs around this distance where I live. However I am working towards improving my 10k time and one day would like to do a half marathon.
What do you need to work on?
My endurance and form. I am trying to be less of a heel striker.
What are you training for?
I am planning on doing some 10kms this year but I haven’t booked anything yet.
What race would you love to enter?
The Marathon of the Midnight Sun in Norway. It is the most northerly registered marathon and you run in the middle of the night with the sun sitting on the horizon, illuminating the road ahead. As a lover of winter and cold weather, this sounds like a great challenge. I would also like to run in the Alps.
What’s your favourite running shoe?
I have recently got some On Cloudsurfers which have really impressed me. They are so light weight and have a really quick transition from heel to toe. Plus I love the colour!
What running item, other than trainers, could you not live without?
It would have to be Shock Absorber’s Ultimate Run Bra. They offer fantastic support thanks to their Infinity 8 support system and are very comfortable. I am also a big fan of Nike’s Tech Running Tight. They always fit very well and the Dri-Fit material encourages breathability so you are always dry and comfortable.
