It's not every locally set novel that makes it to these notifications, but I'm making an exception of this one. Why? Just because of a hunch that it will strike a chord with local readers and, from the little I've so far read, that the author knows what she's doing. The book is based on the true story of a Victorian double murder in Norwich, known as the Murders at Stanfield Hall. You may just possibly have heard of an author called Trevor Heaton who wrote one of the bestselling East Anglian local interest books of the last few years, the fascinating A Scandal at Felbrigg. Whilst not suggesting Rust will repeat that success (and of course it's fiction, not fact) it's both packaged in a way reminiscent of Trevor's book and the subject matter is potentially likely to be of interest to the readership of Scandal....
